SSLCheck – TLS/SSL Scanner with PDF Report
The binsec.tool SSLCheck is a free online analysis tool that runs directly in the browser and evaluates the TLS/SSL configuration of a domain. It provides a quick and reliable overview of supported protocol versions, available cipher suites, and certificate details. SSLCheck is designed as a compact first-assessment tool that highlights weaknesses and misconfigurations in transport encryption. It is a fast alternative to the Qualys “SSL Server Test” – and unlike Qualys, it also allows free selection of the target port. It also serves as a convenient and fast alternative to the command-line tool sslscan, especially when a browser-based solution without local installation is preferred.
SSLCheck examines a wide range of security-relevant parameters:
- supported protocol versions, including SSL 2.0, SSL 3.0, and TLS 1.0–1.3
- available cipher suites, including highlighting those recommended by the German BSI
- key lengths, perfect forward secrecy- detailed certificate information extracted from the SSL/TLS connection:
- Validity period
- Common Name (CN)
- Issuer
- DNS CAA status
- HSTS status
- Algorithm
The tool supports not only traditional HTTPS endpoints but also StartTLS-enabled services such as SMTP, IMAP, and LDAP, as well as custom ports (e.g., 8443).
Because SSLCheck is fully browser-based, it requires no installation and can be used instantly. Results are presented within seconds in a structured format — and can be downloaded for free as a PDF, making it easy to document findings or include them in reports.
